Hi Tom,
I think your blog is really great. How cool that people can just hack up their own projects to be green without having to wait for commercial products to become available (if ever). I really like how some of hybrid car owners have taken to hacking their battery systems to get hundreds of miles per gallon with simple modifications. Why don't the car companies do this already?! Don't get me started. :)
I'm emailing you something that is tangentially related to alternative energy, because I'm trying to generate interest in an idea that is in alignment with your cause.
Al Gore made this amazing movie about an urgent global issue, but the film is barely distributed. I really wish that Al Gore would make his movie freely available on the internet... for everyone to be able to see.
So, I just sat down and hand-wrote and snail-mailed a letter to him, hoping to reach his attention.
At the same time, I blogged the letter here:

Dear Michael,
It sounds like you were very moved by Mr. Gore's documentary. I have not seen it yet myself, but I know a climate scientist who tells me the science in it is top notch. One day soon I hope to be able to get my hands on a copy.
I do thank you for your kind words about the Altenergy blog. I have met some of the most interesting people as a result of it. They go about their business, some quietly, some loudly and publicly, building and using renewable energy. Some of them are from the US, but most are from other countries. I guess that could be a commentary on our country's and our people's misplaced priorities.
At this time of the new year let us resolve to get involved, as you are, and do something to reduce carbon in our atmosphere and achieve greater energy self-sufficiency. The American Indians teach that the morality of an action can be judged by the impact it has on people seven generations from now. What are we creating for the people of the future? How will we judge the morality of our actions?
Thanks for writing,
Tom Woods
